Creating a digital children's experience for IN-N-OUT.
Project Overview
IN-N-OUT currently does not offer a dedicated children’s experience. This is an opportunity to reinforce and expand the IN-N-OUT brand as a family friendly company and gain market share from traditional fast food competitors as well as new entries such as meal kits and food delivery subscriptions.
As a conceptual design project we were tasked to create a brand new digital experience for children.

My Role
I worked on this project as a User Experience Designer within a team of two. Within a small team, I wore many hats. I contributed to the project from end to end including user research, problem definition, visual design, copywriting, wireframes, and developing the final prototype. I worked closely with my team mate Sunny Babbar to make sure we were on the same page tackling the right problem and providing a solution that pleased and engaged parents and children.

To help inform the direction of the project, we created our persona Candice.

She embodies the voice of our main customer, a busy mom.

Problem Statement
Solution Statement
Candice is a busy mom wondering what to feed her kids for dinner. They like IN-N-OUT but she is reluctant to take them because they can't stay still while waiting in line to order food. She needs a way to keep her kids occupied while in the restaurant.
Candice can rest easy with the IN-N-OUT digital kids experience. The kids can enjoy interactive games on mobile or tablet. Perfect for calming and occupying energetic children while in the restaurant.

What Parents Want
A part of understanding the problem and crafting a solution is getting into the heads of parents. Synthesizing our research we found that parents value:
•Educational activities
•Family friendly places (safe, appropriate seating, activities)
•Peace (from noisy, restless children)
We took these insights into consideration when creating our design solutions.
